Review of Our Year in Primary 7 - June 2014

P7 and P7/6 have been working very hard this year and have lots of memories of their time in Elmvale.
We went on a trip to Central Gurdwara as part of our study of the Sikh faith.  P7s from P7/6 went to visit a Hindu Temple as part of their Religious Education studies.
All primary 7s went to North Glasgow College (which is now called Glasgow Kelvin College) where we did a morning of sporting activities organised by the students there.
We have had many sporting opportunities such as the North Glasgow Sports Challenge.  We spent a whole day at Springburn Leisure Centre and had lots of fun in the pool as well as the gym hall.
Glasgow Rocks basketball came to work with us as part of Jump2it and we looked at health with them as well as sport.  After these sessions, we got to go to the Emirates stadium to play basketball with a whole lot of other schools.
The Lord Provost came to visit the school as part of her challenge to visit all Glasgow Schools.  This was part of the lead up to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.  Some children cycled to Barmulloch as part of the Queen's Baton handover.  It was a very wet experience.
We also enjoyed the input from a Netball coach and took part in a tournament.  A local girl group called Sweet Injection came to the school and everyone was very excited.  P7 raised funds for their Leaver's Dance by raffling a signed polo shirt by the girls.  On that day, we also enjoyed the entertainment of a magician.  In January, we had a super Pantomime in the school hall.  It was great fun.
The Caledonian Club visited the school for a workshop, where we made our very own newsletter.
A very active week was had by some of us at Blairvadach Outdoor Centre, despite the wet weather!
We have also been very enterprising in running a Smoothie cafe throughout the year to raise funds for the Leaver's Dance.
Phew!  What a busy year!
