Self-Evaluation Policy Statement

Introduction
At Elmvale Primary and Nursery, our aim is to provide the best possible start in our children’s learning journey. In order to do this, we need to constantly reflect on our current practice.
Purpose
The sole purpose of self-evaluation is to improve outcomes for our learners. It is key to the improvement process and highlights the areas for development. Self-evaluation is integral to our continuous journey of improvement. By engaging in a variety of self-evaluation activities, we build a picture of what we do well and areas for development. This shapes our School Improvement Plan and focuses our development journey on the key priorities for improvement. All members of the Elmvale team have a shared role to play in self-evaluation and contribute their thoughts, opinions and reflections; leading to a robust evaluation of the work of the school.
Processes
Self-evaluation is part of the wider cycle of improvement. It is only effective when this evaluation is completed using a range of evidence, consulting all stakeholders and is completed objectively with improving outcomes for learners as the key driver.
